In the spring, following their marriage, David and Elizabeth moved from Guernsey Co, Ohio to Grant Co, Indiana. There they settled on a farm and raised their children.
According to the statement above (from family records), they would have moved to Indiana in the spring of 1850, since they were married in Dec 1849. However, they are listed in the 1850 US Census (20 Sep 1850) for Oxford Twp, Guernsey Co, Ohio. And, also, the 1860 US Census shows that their son, John, was born in Ohio in Nov 1850. So they more likely moved in the spring of 1851. |
